Hunting Areas
South East lowveld of Zimbabwe
approximately 300 miles by road south of Harare
and 60 miles north of the South African border post. Plains game and sable hunts
also done near Harare. Elephant and buffalo hunts are in the Gona Re Zhou area - near to the
National Park or in the Zambezi
valley and escarpment.
Accomodation
Camps are all comfortable, with electricity, well equipped and staffed.
Hunting Season
Hunting is available throughout the year but the best time for leopard is April
to September - {After September, it becomes too hot and baits don't last.} Elephant
and buffalo
hunting from March - end November.
Climate
April - September Days mild + - 25C [60 - 80F]
October - March Very hot 35 - 40C [100 - 104F]
Evenings and early mornings can be chilly in winter. Bring a warm jacket and warm
long pants.
General
We recommend you bring your own hunting rifle and good supply of ammunition.
Zimbabwe Customs and Excise issue firearm permits at your port of entry. It is also
advisable to register your rifles with your own Customs agency prior to departure.
Automatic weapons are prohibited.
Non - hunters accompanying you are welcome. Two travel days are to be included when
booking a safari. Clients are collected from the Harare International airport and
transferred to their hunting area.
Hunt Includes
The services of a licensed and highly experienced professional hunter, a hunting
vehicle, field and domestic staff,
accommodation during hunt, food, beer, wine, spirits
and minerals, daily laundry and field preparation of trophies.
Not Included
Trophy fees, transfer fee from airport to hunting area, medical insurance, dipping,
packing and shipping of trophies, meat of animals shot, hotel expenses before and
after the hunt.
